James Tenney ( 1934-2006 ) has been an important American composer, very active especially in the field of the Computer Music, of the algorithmic music and of the micro tonal writing. His In a Large Open Space it’s an open piece, a real exploration of the natural phenomenon of the harmonic scene. Twelve elements in between electric guitars and synths choose to execute for at least 30 minutes, a series of long high micro tonalities, contributing to a unique big sound in a continuos transformation.
On this texture Cristina Kristal Rizzo builds her proper solo path , diving into it as in a slumber mood: it takes some courage to let oneself falling asleep allowing at dreams to come, a courage similar to that one necessary to make a dance touching your body in the murmurs of the word.
